WJA – Why WJA?
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP?
A CENTRAL BODY FOR THE PROMOTION OF HIGH PRESSURE WATER JETTING:
The WJA provides a central coordinating organisation for the consideration of all questions related to High Pressure Water Jetting which are of concern to member companies.
ADVICE TO MEMBERS:
The WJA provides regular advice to members on matters such as, current legislation particularly on subjects such as Health & Safety, Employment etc.
PROMOTION OF MEMBERS INTERESTS:
The WJA has a Directory of Members to which it gives wide distribution direct to relevant organisations providing valuable publicity for member companies. The Directory has become a recognised guide by prospective customers when selecting a High Pressure Water Jetting Company.
REPRESENTATION AT HIGHEST LEVELS:
As the acknowledged representative organisation for the High Pressure Water Jetting Industry, the WJA has close contacts with:

- – Customs and Excise
- – Health & Safety Executive
CONTACTS WITH OTHER ORGANISATIONS:
The WJA also has close contacts with organisations concerned with High Pressure Water Jetting including:
- – British Hydraulic Research Group (BHR)
- – British Fluid Power Association (BFPA)
- – Construction Skills – National Working Group (CS-NWG)
- – National Sewerage Association (NSA)
- – Association of Offshore Diving Contractors (AODC)
The WJA is deeply concerned about all matters of Safety in the High Pressure Water Jetting Industry and has developed a widely respected Blue Code of Practice for the Use of High Pressure Water Jetting Equipment which has gained worldwide acceptance and recognition.
To meet the requirements of the Code of Practice the WJA produce Laminated Medical Cards giving advice on the immediate action required in the case accidental personal injury also Warning Signs for use where High Pressure Water Jetting is being undertaken.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
The WJA is firmly dedicated to the provision of Education & Training in the operation and development of High Pressure Water Jetting and the need for a wider understanding of its potentialities and applications. The WJA has developed specially designed Training Courses to meet the needs of the Water Jetting Industry these are all Accredited by City & Guilds of London Institute.
The WJA recognises the value of Research & Development in the application of High Pressure Water Jetting Equipment & Protective Clothing (PPE) and actively supports this work.
PRESS RELATIONS AND PUBLICITY:
The WJA has substantial experience in the media organising appropriate coverage and undertaking publicity activities on behalf of member companies – such as representations at Conferences & Exhibitions.
The WJA has developed close contacts with representative organisations and companies in many overseas countries. The international two-way flow of information is undoubtedly of great benefit to the development of Safe High Pressure Water Jetting and thus to the Member Companies.
